Sofala Technology is an Australian company that was founded and incubated in an old miner’s cottage (circa 1858) in the historic gold mining town of Sofala, New South Wales.

Our mission is to:

  1. Develop optimizing compilers that will enable substantial improvement in the performance of the programs that they compile; and

  2. Allow programmers to use these languages to target new environments.

We develop high performance optimizing compilers. Our goal is for Sofala PHP to become a new gold standard compiler for PHP.

Founder

Our founder Peter Walsh is preparing to launch his latest product, which has been quietly under development for a number of years, a PHP compiler that will — simply — change everything.

Supported by a team of professionals, Walsh has conceived a radical improvement to a much-loved and broadly used language. 25+ years of experience have laid the foundation of this latest development, to launch later this year.
